The series of six large Vytynankas (Ukrainian art of paper cuts) was commissioned by the Ukrainian Canadian Congress, Ontario Committee, as a part of the celebration of the first Ukrainian Heritage Month in Ontario.

The scenes represent the main spheres Ukrainians were involved in and impacted in this province, such as Agriculture and Rural Development, Mining and Heavy Industry, Arts, Education, and Social Services. The decorative patterns, combined with the scenes of working people and industrial symbols, include traditional motifs used in Ukrainian folklore.
